When I first started out as a trainer I thought my purpose and mission was to ‘expand magic’ and I thought I would do that by giving people skills that would give them superpowers to achieve all manner of feats and teach them how to share their magic and unique gifts with others – magic multiplied in every which direction!
My deeper sense for quite some time has been my Purpose within all this is to love my students and clients fiercely. Fiercely enough that they can be their most whole, expansive sense of self. Fiercely enough that they can courageously do the hard, scary and necessary things. Fiercely enough that they can love themselves beyond anything I could ever offer them.
Now…l’ve recently been the recipient of some pretty scathing personal character attacks for the first time (at least to my face, and perhaps this is a milestone worthy of celebration!) and understandably, initially I felt the seductive impulse to close.
As I turned inward to connect with an intention to meet this from a place of expanding possibilities a question whispered…
“How can I love you better?”
I recognised an opportunity to embody this even more deeply.
When I hold this question in times of conflict, in times of strong opinions, judgement and criticism a space in my heart, within the impulse to close, opens.
How can I love you better?
How can I love US better?
Oh the number of times I’ve interacted from closed and stoopid.
Legacy is not about how you want to be remembered, it’s about the kind of world you want to leave behind.
How can I love you better?
With warmth,
Amy
